A study on what I want my life to be filled with

Day 1: To seek His Face and Know Him Better

This month I decided I wanted to do something a little different. I have challenged myself to 15 days of prayer and I’d like to share what I’ve been praying about and what I’ve learned.

Prayer is more than just asking God for stuff. It’s building a relationship. That includes listening to what He is saying. I have found myself doing more listening through this than I thought I would.

The prompt for day one was: To seek His face and know him better.

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Psalm 27:8, NIV

I asked God to show me what this verse meant to Him and to me and I wrote a few things down.

-I need to look for the movement and fingerprints of God all around me.

– I need to search for what God is doing, because it’s more important than what I am doing.

– I need to earnestly long for God’s presence.

– I need to intentionally turn to the things of God.

My prayer: Lord, show me where you are and where you have been moving. I want to see what you are doing in my life and in the world. Help me to long for you and for time in your presence. Lead my heart in the way you are going. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!

There it is! Day one! I hope it’s given you something different to think about and maybe even inspired you to pray this same prompt today.

  1. I’m excited for this series! I love that you’re sharing what God is speaking to you—it’s an encouraging reminder that God speaks to us regularly if we pause to listen! Looking forward to seeing more of these prayer prompts.
