A study on what I want my life to be filled with

Do Good to All People

We are in the home stretch of 2020, and I don’t think ANYONE could have predicted what this year was going to hold for any of us. As I have be focusing on a different fruit of the spirit almost every month, they have all been very well timed. This month I am going to focus on goodness. Not only the goodness of God but also on how we can be good to others. I think many people take for granted what being good to others can do for them. There are plenty of good people out there, but when you have the goodness of God behind your actions it is even more powerful. I want people to know I am a Christian not only by my love, but also by my goodness to humanity.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:9-10

This has been a year of weariness for so many. With most of us working from home, missing our friends, family, and co-workers, we can get weary with life. But here the bible tells us not to become weary in doing good, because the harvest will come if we do not give up. I’m guessing that harvest is not only in how we bless others but also in how our own soul is blessed. I think it is also interesting that Paul reminds us to do good to those in our family of believers. Sometimes we focus so much on how to do good to those strangers in line, or that family in our neighborhood that needs a helping hand, that we forget to do good to our family of believers. We as Christians need to be encouraged just as much as those strangers.

So, check up on your friends and family! See how you can be doing good to those you love! Wait for the harvest to come and see the beautiful fruit that has been planted with the goodness that flows from God through you.

  1. I love that there is a Bible verse about not getting weary of doing good—God knew this would be a challenge for each of us when we’re worn down. And He knew how much that being good to each other would help during tough times!
Thanks for being someone who checks in on me friend! Looking forward to your posts focused on goodness.

He’s pretty smart 😉 He reminded us of a lot and now we get to continually remind each other of these things. Thanks for checking in on me as well 🙂
